7:10pm to 7.30pm - Innovations in Hospital Healthcare: Connected Health 2.0 - Jeffery Tobias

Connected Health - Innovations in Hospital Healthcare
Healthcare delivery in hospitals across the globe is undergoing fundamental change. There is a common view amongst healthcare providers internationally that the current paper-based hospital systems are unsustainable moving forwards, both from a patient care and a financial perspective. Hospitals are looking to technology as a fundamental enabler to change - with the appropriate enabling technology deployed, shifting cultures becomes easier and a reality, leading to better patient outcomes and increased revenue and profitability.

This session will look at some of the innovation technologies being utilised in hospitals around the globe, and some of the quantitative benefits being derived from their deployment.

7:30pm to 8:00 pm - Prof Georgeff presentation
The ICT opportunity and challenge provided by chronic disease
Chronic disease is one of the greatest challenges facing established medical practice and threatens the sustainability of healthcare systems worldwide. It is a enormous cost to individuals and society and, equally, represents a huge opportunity for change. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) should help, but so far has had minimal impact. This talk will examine why existing approaches are not working. It will discuss how fundamental changes to our way of thinking about and using ICT in healthcare are key to overcoming the challenge of chronic disease and generating both health and business opportunities. We will conclude by suggesting a path forward that has the potential to dramatically improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, increase human capital, and transform the way we practice healthcare.

8:10 pm to 8:30pm - From Connected Health to Connected Life Sciences from John Grant
From Connected Health to Connected Life Sciences
India's economic growth will deliver a national health transition. One critical component of this will be the development of 'connected healthcare': India's citizens will become 'informed and empowered', they will demand real-time, online access to information and services and they will expect those services to be delivered in a seamlessly integrated way - across the boundaries of the delivery organisations.

How will these trends impact on Life Sciences companies and how can they be exploited to drive innovation, growth and productivity?

This presentation will consider the opportunities that 'connected healthcare' can bring to the Pharmaceutical sector in India .
