John Grant is a director in the IBSG global Healthcare Practice, with responsibility for Connected Health across the APAC region. With 16 years experience in Healthcare and Life Sciences ICT, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the sector's strategic and operational ICT issues - at enterprise, regional and national levels.

John has led the development and implementation of pharmaceutical clinical and R&D applications; hospital applications across a range of clinical specialities and a national primary care administration system. He held global responsibility for IT in the commercial division of a major pharmaceutical company, has turned around a failing IT department and led the development of an healthcare internet business startup. Prior to joining Cisco John was the Head of Systems Integration with PA Consulting Group (Scotland).

In his IBSG role John acts as a trusted advisor to executives in our major healthcare customers. He is responsible for executive relationships, industry partenrships, leading customer engagements and creating thought leadership and industry solutions. He has advised on a wide range of topics including: business development strategy, ICT strategy, e-Healthcare strategy, operational effectiveness, electronic regulatory-submissions and electronic clinical trials.

John holds a BSc from the University of Edinburgh, where he was the Forrester-Paton Scholar; an MSc from the University of Glasgow and BSc and an MMath from the Open University of the UK.
