MobileNXT, a Bangalore-based mobile retail chain was set up early last year with the idea of providing a one-stop- shop for a host of telecom related products and services to customers. It offers mobile accessories, handsets, value-added services, data transfer facilities and an interactive kiosk.
It has already established 25 outlets across the country and has also ventured into three business concepts: Stand alone stores, Store in stores and Virtual stores.
The company recently deployed retail software from eRetailtech to enhance its business process.
Software customised to suit MobileNXT
MobileNXT uses two types of software - FlexiWare and FlexiPos (interlinked by e-mail), developed and maintained by Hyderabad-based eRetail Cybertech Pvt Ltd.
FlexiWare is the central software positioned at the head office used for all the master inputs required for the transactions at different locations. FlexiPos is used at locations where the Inventory Management process of purchase and sales takes place. FlexiPos operations, including Goods Receipt Note (GRN), Billing and Daily Stock Take, begin once the data sent from FlexiWare is imported.
The software was customised to fit the requirements of MobileNXT. Some of the features like comparing different brands/models against a set of features, capturing and tracking mobiles based on the EMEI number, commission tracking based on price at which the handset was sold, tracking between own store and franchisee stores, etc were customised.

Business made easier and efficient
The technology implementation has enhanced business efficiency as the company no longer has to manually handle transactions, reports, updates or billing. Features such as automatic incentives (negative and positive) calculation based on sales done with respect to the different levels of selling price, unique SKUCode series generation based on brand for quick identification, optional delivery challan or invoice printing for billed items, etc have greatly contributed to improved business process.

The system has helped us track sales, inventory, cash collections and customer database. The system also gives us real time reporting which has helped us make informed management decisions.”
MobileNXT plans to expand consistently and have 125 stores across the country by 2008.
