AT&T To Invest $750 Million To Boost IP Services Worldwide

In order to accelerate delivery of global IP services and solutions for businesses and multinational organisations in key markets worldwide, AT&T has announced an investment of more than $750 million in 2007.
According to AT&T, the investment will bring in advanced features to Virtual Private Network (VPN) services portfolio with a business VoIP services portfolio, voice, security services and electronic customer service capabilities.
The investment is also expected to provide global applications management capabilities on VPNs, global enhanced remote monitoring and management capabilities to host customers, global expansion of network-based firewalls, deployment of in-country IP services, enhancements to global IP conferencing and contact centres, global e-ordering, maintenance and network reporting capabilities.
AT&T plans to have 38 IDCs deployed around the world, extend deployment of key access technologies to enable companies to connect to AT&T's global IP network, extend global IP network and capabilities to deliver more services to business customers in the United States and around the world, by the end of 2007.
