Several public safety organisations such as police, paramilitary, defence and municipalities are showing interest in these kind of communication solutions to provide their customers 24/7 services. Large private enterprises are also deploying these communication devices to protect their mission critical data.
Motorola recently showcased a wide range of mission critical communication solutions in various standards like TETRA, APCO, WiMAX, Wireless broadband and other mesh networking solutions. The company has already started deploying these communication devices in various government agencies in India and is now eyeing the Special Economic Zones to deploy these solutions.
Informing about the strategy for the Indian market, Subodh Vardhan, director, Sales and country head, Government and Public Safety, Motorola India says, “Motorola is committed to providing the highest quality and most reliable integrated voice and data solutions for mission critical communication requirements. Motorola is working with a wide variety of government organisations like state police, paramilitary forces, armed forces and railways. Motorola is also registered as a supplier with DGS&D (Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals) under the Ministry of Commerce.”
The company has been able to acquire customers like AP Police, Delhi Police, Manipur Police and oil giants like HPCL. Vardhan opines, “Several large SEZ developers are in touch with us for providing communications solutions like Wireless Broadband, Broadband over Power Line or Radio communications. Large manufacturing units, mines, ports, retailers are also in discussion with us to provide the latest technology enabled communication devices throughout their campus. Reliance Industries is also looking for its Jamnagar refineries and we are in discussion with the company.”
The company has also launched several solutions in the WiMAX space.
