In a move to boost its service oriented architecture (SOA) credentials and get a tad closer to SAP, HP has announced a set of new services that will support the enterprise service-oriented architecture (Enterprise SOA) blueprint from the German giant.
In addition to the new service, HP will also design and implement services to support key SAP NetWeaver components, including SAP NetWeaver Portal program for workforce integration, SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure program for process integration, and SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence program for information integration.
By offering both Enterprise SOA services and SAP NetWeaver implementation services, HP will be better able to help SAP customers improve business process innovation and flexibility. The initiative is also expected to validate HP’s own portfolio of SOA solutions.
Commenting on the occasion, Stephan Rossius, senior vice president, Global Partner Management, SAP stated, "SAP shares HP’s vision of enabling businesses to adapt to change in real time. By combining HP’s services with our Enterprise SOA strategy, we can help customers improve business process innovation and flexibility."
According to HP, the new SAP-based services will complement and extend its suite of offerings which provide tools and applications for SOA quality testing, governance, security and management. Some of the existing HP services for Enterprise SOA include, Envisioning Service, Assessment Service, Governance & Architecture Service, and Development Service.
