Patni Computer Systems and International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) have announced a partnership for collaborative research activities in the medical device domain. The partnership will initially focus on bio-image signal processing with an aim to develop reusable image processing libraries and explore complex algorithms. It will gradually move to other technology areas such as Pattern recognition, Real-time Operating Systems and Embedded wireless devices.
For this partnership, a team from Patni’s Product Engineering Services division will work with students pursuing their M.S Program in Embedded Systems Design.
According to Srikanth Thiagarajan, professor and head, Department of Advanced Embedded Systems Design, I2IT, “By partnering with a leading IT global services provider such as Patni, our students will now have the opportunity to leverage their skills in Advanced Embedded Systems Design with a focus on the highly specialised Medical Systems domain.”
Commenting on the partnership, Ajay Chamania, senior vice president, Product Engineering Services, Patni remarked, “The caliber of the I2IT team will enrich and facilitate the joint exploration and development of novel offerings in the Medical Systems domain.”
