TutorVista Forays Into Indian Market

TutorVista.com announced its acquisition of Edurite Technologies. With this acquisition, TutorVista has jump started its operations in India. The companies will be rolling out several key initiatives enhancing the Edurite Product and Services portfolio and also venturing into new fields to address the Indian education sector.

According to K. Ganesh, founder and CEO, Tutorvista.com, "With the acquisition of Edurite, we plan to take our India initiative to the remotest corner and make quality education accessible and affordable to every student through a combination of online and offline methods using technology, reach and key partnerships."

Students will gain from this merger as they get access to educational content, scientific and standardised tutoring from the convenience of their home. TutorVista has over 150 students studying in their pilot tutoring centre in Bangalore and are looking at expanding to over 50 centres across India in the next 12 months.

"Edurite gets the benefit of TutorVista experience in internet space as well as deep pockets funding the plans of growth. TutorVista gets to jump start the India plan with readily available platform and deep domain expertise with high quality content", informed Srikanth Iyer, president and COO, Edurite Technologies.

TutorVista plans to invest in R&D and Marketing to enhance the Edurite business. Also, as a part of their global initiatives, TutorVista brings their learning experience from US and UK markets to India.

The new entity will be known as TutorVista Education India Pvt. Ltd. and will be monetised separately.
