Super Gas Goes Live With mySAP ERP
By: Minu Sirsalewala  |  Jan 11,2007
In a bid to improve its operational efficiency and streamline its business processes, Hyderabad based LPG distribution company Super Gas has deployed SAP’s mySAP ERP.

Super Gas expects to leverage mySAP ERP to enhance its expertise in providing uninterrupted distribution of LPG to industrial, automotive, commercial and domestic segments.

The gas company was looking to simplify the management of multiple systems it had acquired over the years for facilitating various business processes. In addition to this, the rising cost of operating these systems was also becoming an area of concern for the company. Hence, to address these issues, it decided to do away with its legacy systems and replace them with the ERP offering from SAP.

Elaborating on the reasons for choosing mySAP, V N Diwakar, VP-Business Development & Special Projects said, "We chose SAP for its tight integration capabilities and its proven track record in the gas distribution industry and its satisfying to see the initial impact SAP has had on our organizational efficiencies so far. With its powerful, comprehensive functionality, mySAP ERP is helping us in expanding our offerings, increasing profitability and achieve significant competitive advantage through business-process innovation."

Super Gas deployed mySAP ERP to automate key business processes including sales and customer service, logistics, finance, and reporting.

The solution was customized to deliver improved inventory management, balanced supply chain and enhanced partner collaboration for the company. Super Gas implemented 7 modules of the ERP across 25 locations and managed to go live with the solution in just 6 months.

"We are pleased to see Super Gas go live on mySAP ERP in a short period of 6 months in 25 locations. In the gas distribution industry, organizations face the double challenge of rising hydrocarbon prices and ever-growing pressures from customers and regulators. Organizations face the challenge of reducing distribution costs while meeting profitability and accountability to stake holders. We are excited to work with organizations like Super Gas in the competitive gas distribution industry and look forward to meet their dynamic requirements," said Alan Sedghi, President & CEO, SAP Indian Subcontinent.
