Business Objects, a provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, has merged Crystal Reports Server with IBM Balanced Warehouse C1000, a new BI appliance launched by IBM.
The IBM Balanced Warehouse C1000 is an information integration, content delivery, and reporting solution that combines IBM DB2 Warehouse Starter Edition, Crystal Reports Server from Business Objects, and Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in a pre-integrated, pre-tested solution with an easy, single-install format.
IBM Balanced Warehouse C1000 integrates multiple, scattered data resources into a scalable data warehouse to create, manage, schedule, and deliver secure business or organizational reports for mid-size companies.
"IBM Balanced Warehouse C1000 provides an affordable data warehouse and reporting solution to help companies understand and improve operations, revenues, expense management, productivity, and much more," explained Todd Rowe, vice president and general manager of mid-market business at Business Objects.
Business Objects will also support IBM Balanced Warehouse C3000 Foundation Solution, through integration of Business Objects Crystal Decisions. The combination of C3000 and Crystal Decisions will enable extensive data management and business intelligence needs—scaling to as much as one terabyte of data—of mid-size organisations.
"The IBM Balanced Warehouse C1000 and C3000 provide reliable, scalable data warehousing for any size implementation. Crystal Reporters Server from Business Objects is well suited to meet the reporting needs of mid-size companies and was a natural fit to bundle with the C1000," remarked Karen Parrish, vice president, IBM Business Intelligence Solutions.
