Bytes of Learning and Nasscom Foundation have come together to offer Bytes of Learning's UltraKey typing instruction software to non-profit groups and community organisations. Many disadvantaged people stand to benefit from this collaborative effort, which will impart touch-typing skills free of cost. With this development, Bytes of Learning will be the second donor besides Microsoft under Nasscom's BiG Tech programme. BiG Tech assists NGOs and charities by offering them free access to software, hardware and other philanthropic donation programmes of donor partners.
The UltraKey software provides training to the less fortunate who desire to be employed. This software provides keyboarding instruction with teacher-friendly management tools, thereby, enabling users to quickly improve not only on their typing skills but also overall communication skills.
Art Willer, president, Bytes of Learning, said, "Touch-typing is a vital skill in today's technology-driven world. UltraKey simplifies the whole process of learning to use the keyboard and even congratulates the user on improvement of skill. As a corporate donor to the Nasscom Foundation programme, we have an opportunity to fulfill our social responsibilities by offering the UltraKey 5.0 software to the less fortunate, who will immensely benefit from it".
"The free UltraKey software donation will be routed through our technology assistance programme BiG Tech that is being offered in partnership with TechSoup. Through BiG Tech, Bytes of Learning will donate its software to community organisations and other non-profit groups who rely primarily on private donations and who assist disadvantaged people of any age and from any walk of life", said Rufina Fernandes, CEO, Nasscom Foundation.
