Quantum has announced StorageCare Vision, extending its line of data management solutions. StorageCare Vision works together with Quantum's iLayer tape automation system management and StorageCare Guardian backup system remote monitoring application to automate the management of a customer's entire data protection environment, including disk and tape systems, through a single user interface.
Quantum's StorageCare Vision claims to enables customer to more effectively manage their data protection infrastructure across distributed environments, especially in remote or branch offices where data protection processes and IT support is limited. Quantum disk backup systems and automated tape libraries can be linked via a single, global management console to allow centralised visibility across tiers of backup, restore, archive and disaster recovery processes.
According to Kevin Honeycutt, vice president of marketing for Quantum, "The introduction of StorageCare Vision delivers a complementary tool that extends visibility across the data protection infrastructure to proactively control and simplify backup, recovery and archive management through a single pane of glass."
StorageCare Vision is available now through Quantum and its distribution partners. It runs on Windows 2000/2003 Server and supports Solaris, Linux, AIX and HPUX operating systems and several other software packages.
