Oracle announced that Sun Direct has implemented Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management to provide real-time billing for the company’s next generation Direct-to-Home (DTH) services. Sun Direct worked with Siemens Information Systems Limited (SISL), a member of the Oracle Partner Network, to complete the implementation.
“In making the move from a content provider to a service provider, we needed to ensure that we had the necessary technology infrastructure in place to bill for services quickly and accurately,” said Tony DeSilva, chief operating officer, Sun Direct. “With Oracle, we have implemented a next-generation solution in just months – accelerating our ability to rapidly deliver new services and deliver a superior customer experience. This is a milestone in redefining the economics of Direct-to-Home service delivery in India.”
According to the release, Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management enables Sun Direct to accelerate service delivery, reduce time-to-market of new services and enhance operational efficiency.
“In Asia-Pacific, the sophisticated communications environment is changing rapidly due to new entrants and market consolidation. Service providers must stand out from the crowd in order to remain competitive,” said Dr. Weiming Li, vice president for Japan and Asia Pacific, Oracle Communications. “Oracle is pleased to help Sun Direct transform and expand its business – enabling the company to rapidly deliver attractive new services and high quality customer care.”
