ALD Automotive, a Mumbai-based company into operational leasing and fleet management is developing its proprietary ERP - ALD Automotive Core to be floated on the in-house Intranet.

A Part of the Societe General Group and operational in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi, the company has a fleet count of  two thousand with hundred and ten customers, since commencing its India operations in 2005.

“We are working on ALD Automotive Core since the last seven months with bi-weekly reviews to assure the modules match the business processes. The ERP will be built upon three basic modules viz. Quotations, Operational and Financial, sub modules being Marketing and Service,” said Naresh Patwardhan, IT manager, ALD Automotive. “These modules will enable us to streamline the processes and proper information handling on fleet management among branches.”

“Since Operational leasing is an upcoming business in India, there are no ERPs available which completely fit into this service vertical. This is the reason we are going for an in house ERP. The major challenge will be to define the business processes with the systems; to make sure exactly the type of information created and where it fits into the system. Another challenge will be to carry out system upgrades.”
