New Products Added To NetApp FAS6000 And V6000 Series

NetApp has introduced FAS6040 and FAS6080 in its FAS6000 series and V6040 and V6080 in V6000 series. FAS6040 and FAS6080 claim to offer a significant amount of capacity with increased support for up to 1TB disk drives.
According to the release, FAS6080 system can be configured with over 1100TB of raw storage capacity using up to 1,176 hard disk drives and FAS6040 can support over 800TB of capacity. Both models have a high-bandwidth controller design that provides I/O expandability of up to 56 integrated 4Gbps Fiber Channel ports or 52 1Gbps Ethernet ports.
The company is also announcing new FAS2000 configurations, which now support SATA drives internally in addition to already-shipping SAS-internal configurations.
