ASUS India has added two new products--GigaX 1116i+ and GigaX 1124i+ networking switches for the SME segment--in its networking product portfolio.
According to Altaf Ansari, product manager, Networking Business, ASUS India, "Both these switches provide features which allow easy manageability and cost effectiveness simultaneously, thus optimizing the overall resource utilization of the networking infrastructure of an SME environment. The ASUS GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX 1124i+ are built to enhance the latest technology scenario."
The ASUS GigaX 1116i+ and the GigaX 1124i+ are Web Smart 16 and 24 port Layer 2 Gigabit switches respectively with 4 SFP (Mini Gbic) for fiber connections. They offer advanced management features to system administrators that are normally available from a Managed Layer 2 switch.
With support for 4 SFP slots, these two switches provide higher uplink bandwidth and greater redundancy for connections when used with the trunking feature. MIS professionals and even average networking technicians can easily setup VLANs, priority queues, link aggregation, and port mirroring through the user friendly web-based management tool.
For greater security, both these ASUS switches support both IEEE 802.1x port-based network access control and Access Control List (source IP filter).
