Arun O Gupta a known face in the CIO/CTO fraternity has recently concluded his services as Director, Philips Global Infrastructure Services, Philips Electronics India. As Director P-GIS, he was in charge of providing IT solutions for all Product Business Units (Consumer Electronics, Lighting, Domestic Appliances, Medical and Semiconductors) in India, Pakistan, New Zealand & Australia.
Arun has joined Shoppers Stop a retail chain in India and replaces Unni Krishnan T M, CTO of Shoppers’ Stop who was with the chain since 1998.
The reason Arun made an exit, was the operational role he was expected to play at Philips. As Arun has been into strategy and ideation he found the pure operational role kind of restraining his potential. Arun had joined Philips in March 2006.
Prior to his current assignment he was Senior Director - Business Technology at Pfizer India, responsible for Technology initiatives for India. In earlier assignments Arun has been VP-IT at Hughes Telecom; National IT Manager with DHL Worldwide Express; VP-Head of IT with DSP Merrill Lynch and Head of IT with Great Eastern Shipping Company (GESCO).
Arun has over 22 years of experience in the IT industry.

replaced within one week. However it took around more than two months to Now there is another problem, it is not able to detect
VCDs. And they are again saying that the lens needs to be replaced. Now I dont know how much time they are going to take this time. But I am
extremely sorry to say that my experience with Philips is extremely bad so far and frustrating. I am also planning to write about this experience on

I have purchased a DVD home theater system from Philips. But from the begining I have facing problem with remote control receiver unit. To check the transmitting unit I have procured a remote checker. By this I checked the remote and found ok. The machine was serviced by your service engineer at Mangalore. But after 4 month the same problem has been arrising. The DVD player is only 1 year old. Last week the warranty period was expaired. Please let me know what I will do now. i am filling very very bad about the Philips product and i think this is my last philips product. Regarding this problem I had send a mail to your customer care also but without vain.
I am presently working in HPCL. I know that company reputation is very much required in todays business.
