Oracle has announced Siebel Wireless support for Blackberry smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM), bringing Oracle's CRM applications and capabilities to BlackBerry users.
Siebel Wireless for BlackBerry enables enterprises to extend CRM data to executives, sales teams and field services engineers who rely on their BlackBerry smartphones to conduct real-time communications and transactions.
"The BlackBerry platform provides a robust and multifaceted solution for supporting mobile workers in the field and CRM applications are important from both strategic and operational perspectives," said Jeff McDowell, VP, Global Alliances, Research In Motion. "Siebel Wireless on BlackBerry smartphones allows field personnel to stay connected to up-to-date customer information and to help enhance overall customer satisfaction."
According to Mary Wardley, research vice president, CRM Applications, IDC, "CRM is becoming a primary use of mobile and wireless technology among enterprises. By utilising mobile CRM, users have access to real-time customer data, enabling them to increase sales efficiencies and be productive when they are in the field."
