Red Hat, a provider of open source solutions has launched the Global Services Centre in India to build and implement open source enterprise solutions and services for Red Hat's global customers in close partnership with global Indian software services companies.

"The Indian development community is widely recognised for its expertise and
its contribution to open source development. The success of support services delivered to global customers from our centre in Pune has been instrumental in choosing India as the destination for Red Hat's Global Services Centre. Red Hat intends to scale up the operations of this Global Services Centre by 100 engineers over the next twelve months," informed Charlie peters, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Red Hat.

According to Nandkumar Pradhan, president and managing director, Red Hat India, "Red Hat's Global Services Centre will provide an opportunity for innovation in open source development and services. This Centre will work on a hybrid delivery model of captive skills as well as partner with global Indian software services companies to deliver services to our global customers."
