Wipro Technologies has announced the launch of a joint solution with HP for Point of Sale (POS) application testing solution.

The solution, which is a modular, flexible, and reusable framework, is targeted at the POS application software vendors, POS equipment/platform vendors, and end-user retailers. It aims to reduce the testing cycle time due to its ready-to-use POS test cases and accelerates automated testing of POS application.

Commenting on the alliance, B.M. Bhanumurthy, senior vice president (Retail, CPG & Distribution solutions) of Wipro Technologies, said, "Reliability, speed, and functionality of POS are very critical for execution at the store. Wipro enables retailers to bring in reliability and shrink cycle times while enhancing the functionality of their POS systems, through effective use of accelerators."

To take care of the test environment creation for specific POS application to test retail application, Wipro Testing Services has also invested in POS testing lab.

"Currently almost 50% of Wipro's testing services revenue comes from non-technology domains and unique solutions like this will bring tremendous advantage to our retail customers and boost our services sales in retail segment," said C.P. Gangadharaiah, senior vice president and worldwide head of Wipro Testing Services. "The solution uses sophisticated methodologies and test frameworks that streamline release management and provide time to market advantage," he further stated.
