BEA Systems, a provider of enterprise infrastructure software and CA, an IT management software company, have announced a strategic partnership to further streamline identity and access management (IAM) across the enterprise. The joint venture would help customers reduce IT costs, improve performance by combining web single sign-on, user management and SOA infrastructure.
BEA has chosen CA for IAM, with integration across the AquaLogic and WebLogic product families to CA's IAM technology, specifically CA SiteMinder and CA Identity Manager. CA has chosen BEA's WebLogic Server as the application server for CA's IAM technology where it plans to make additional investment to extend current integration between the product lines to drive improved performance.
The companies plan to conduct interoperability testing and validations that could provide customers with improved performance and reliability.
"With the ongoing trend of abstracting identity and security logic from the underlying applications, integration between CA's IAM solution and BEA's application infrastructure will offer customers the flexibility and control they need to deliver a new generation of value-added services across the extended enterprise," said Bilhar Mann, senior vice president and general manager of CA's security management business unit.
