Exaprotect, Fortinet Announce Strategic Alliance
By: Biztech2 Staff  |  Mar 27,2008
Exaprotect, and Fortinet have announced a strategic alliance to deliver robust security and network management solutions to enterprises, service providers and government agencies with highly complex network environments.

The partnership will enable Exaprotect, Fortinet and their channel partners to provide advanced solutions that help customers to better manage and mitigate security threats and risks, and to protect their network investments, especially in large installations with thousands of geographically dispersed heterogeneous devices.

The patented Exaprotect Solsoft Policy Server will be integrated with Fortinet’s flagship FortiGate line of security appliances, enabling unified and centralised security policy management in large, multi-vendor network environments.

As part of this partnership, Exaprotect joins Fortinet’s Global Alliance Programme, which is an ecosystem of network equipment manufacturers, consultancy firms, service providers, global system integrators and other technology firms that complement and extend Fortinet’s UTM solutions for protecting customers against external threats and internal breaches.

"With this partnership, Exaprotect and Fortinet are addressing a key requirement for robust security with easy control and manageability in complex, heterogeneous networks," said Anthony James, vice president of products for Fortinet. "Our approach of consolidating critical network security applications and services onto a single, high-performance platform reduces the complexity and cost of securing a network. The Exaprotect Solsoft Policy Server does the same for policy control, making the integration of the two a truly complementary solution. We are making overall security management far easier and quicker for hard-pressed IT teams."

"The interoperability between Exaprotect and Fortinet’s unified security solutions gives enterprises greater choice, enabling them to simplify and streamline their entire approach to network security," said Frédéric Saint-Joigny, Exaprotect’s vice president of business development. "With Fortinet’s best-of-breed solutions and the Exaprotect Solsoft Policy Server’s policy and role-based management capabilities, organizations will dramatically improve their operational efficiency, dramatically reduce the response time to threats and meet compliance."
