Many small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) are struggling to protect their business environment as Internet crime and malware has become more and more sophisticated.
F-Secure Protection Service for Business (PSB) is designed to meet these challenges. As it is delivered as a service through a certified Value Added Reseller (VAR) it removes the need for the SMB customer to maintain in-house IT expertise. For those SMB's that do have IT departments the solution has a web-based management interface.
Speaking at the PSB launch, Juha Ollila, F-Secure's Vice President of Channel Business said, "F-Secure's new Protection Service for Business is a service, and as such highly cost-effective. It allows small and medium sized companies to focus their time and resources on running their businesses instead of struggling to keep up with the constantly evolving security threats."
F-Secure's "Security as a Service" solution has been developed for value-added resellers and service provider partners, enabling them to offer managed IT security as part of their service portfolio.
F-Secure's Protection Service for Business consists of security client software and a F-Secure hosted management portal for SMBs. PSB protects desktop computers, laptops and file servers against viruses, spyware and hidden malware. It includes features such as automatic security signatures, client software updates and management system upgrades.
The solution contains a firewall, intrusion prevention, application control, proactive protection with F-Secure's DeepGuard technology, as well as rootkit detection with the F-Secure Blacklight tool. The built-in spam control keeps e-mail free of unwanted messages.
