Trend Micro has made available to consumers a free trial of Trend Micro eMail ID, a tool designed to provide additional knowledge about safe email.
Trend Micro eMail ID verifies the authenticity of the email sender, helping the end user to quickly identify legitimate messages and gives them the confidence to open and act on those messages. During the trial period, eMail ID is available to end users on the Trend Micro TrendSecure Web site.
"This tool makes it easy for users to identify which emails are real, and which are fake,” said John Maddison, general manager of Trend Micro's network security services group. “Phishing attacks often involve fraudulent emails to steal consumers' personal and financial identification. They're hard to identify so this tool offers assurance to consumers regarding the legitimacy of email messages; it adds another layer of protection against such attacks.”
