HCL Infosytems has unveiled its new Quad-Socket HCL High-End Enterprise server IGL 4700 FC based on Intel's latest 7300 series of Quad core Xeon MP processors. The new server packs extreme performance in a dense package, with 16 computing cores in a 7-inch (4U) form factor.

HCL IGL 4700FC offers mainframe-class reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) along with features such as system memory mirroring and sparing, hot-plug PCI Express (PCIe) capabilities, hot-swap SATA/SAS hard drives, and redundant hot-swap power supplies and fans. This quad-socket server can handle a virtualised application environment with up to 16 virtual machines, allowing it to single-handedly cater to all infrastructure requirements of emerging businesses.
