Subex Azure, the revenue maximization solutions vendors for telecom operators has announced plans to acquire OSS (Operations Support Software) solutions provider Syndesis for an estimated sum of $164.5 million.
Once completed, the acquisition will enable Subex Azure to become one of the prominent vendors of telecom OSS solutions.
"Subex Azure’s success of the last few years, as we grew to be one of the leaders in the Revenue Maximization solution segment, is driven by our strategy to offer a portfolio of software solutions that helps telecom operators gain competitive advantage," said Subash Menon, chairman, managing director and CEO, Subex Azure.
Speaking further he said, "Subex Azure has identified a compelling opportunity to replicate its current success by extending its offering to the Fulfillment and Assurance solution segment through the acquisition of Syndesis, a leading vendor in this segment. We expect that this acquisition will enable us to extend our product portfolio to provide field-proven solutions that empower operational dexterity."
Upon completion Syndesis will become a part of Subex Azure Limited. The expanded Subex Azure will then reorganize itself into three distinct Strategic Business Units (SBUs) viz. Revenue Maximization Solutions SBU, Fulfillment & Assurance Solutions SBU and BT Business SBU. The current Syndesis business will form the second SBU and will operate as an independent revenue center focusing on product development and delivery.
According to a recent report by OSS Observer, the total market for the combination of Fraud & Revenue Assurance, Interconnect, Service Assurance and Service Fulfillment solution segments stood at $ 2.5 billion in 2006. Further, this market size is expected to grow to $4.5 billion by 2010. Subex Azure which already holds 29% market share of the $216 million global Fraud and Revenue Assurance solution market will aim to replicate its success in the new markets of Service Assurance and Service Fulfillment.
