Western Digital has introduced My Book external storage solutions: My Book Home Edition, My Book Office Edition, My Book Essential Edition and My Book Studio Edition.

According to the release, home users will appreciate the automatic backup of their precious memories on the My Book Home Edition. Office users will rely on the remote access and sharing capabilities of the My Book Office Edition. My Book Essential Edition meets the needs of users who seek simple, instant storage, while the My Book Studio Edition is designed for creative users and formatted for Mac computers.

Commenting on the new My Book external storage solutions, Sharad Srivastava, director sales (India & South Asia), Western Digital said "With the new My Book family, we aim to deliver new meaningful features such as continuous backup and remote access while enhancing the qualities of elegance and simplicity that made this family of products so popular."

My Book Office Edition claims to protect business assets with the ability to back up important data to multiple destinations and synchronise working files to keep them current and secure. Users can set it and forget it; every time a file is changed on the My Book Office Edition, it is automatically backed up.

Beware never buy a Western Digital Product. I had bought one on Nov 16th 2007 & am suffering even till today ( Dec 19th 2007). The 500GB HDD did not work from the word go. It was dead on arrival. I called up the service centre & they promised to pick it up the same day which happened only 48 hrs later. Now I am following up with the Service Centre & they have no answer as to when the HDD can be delivered.
All phone calls & mails are not replied to.
You have been warned.
