HP has announced an enhanced media platform to help telecom operators accelerate growth by providing their mobile and broadband customers with a wide variety of personalised, interactive multimedia services.

The HP OpenCall Media Platform 4.0 is a carrier-grade media server that handles call connections and the special digital processing that is required for services offering multimedia content, such as rich video and advanced messaging in social networking communities.

HP OpenCall Media Platform claims to run multiple interactive multimedia services on a single platform, thus enabling operators to consolidate many legacy systems – and further reduce costs.
