RoamAD has announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Adino Telecom.
Under the agreement, Adino Telecom will supply and integrate RoamAD networks for Internet services providers, carriers, universities and government agencies on the Indian subcontinent.
"Although India is one of the fastest growing wireless markets in the world, broadband penetration is still very low at less than 0.50%," said Martyn Levy, CEO of RoamAD.
"There is a rapidly-emerging, tech-savvy segment of the population that is demanding improved access to broadband. This growing segment, which is located in urban areas, is increasingly armed with the latest laptops and Wi-Fi enabled cell phones and gadgets. Couple these facts with the population density and you quickly realise that India's urban areas are perfect for metro Wi-Fi deployments," he added.
"Mobility performance on the highway Wi-Fi network was seamless and exceeded our expectations," said S. Ramchandra, COO of Adino Telecom.
"We are already seeing growing demand in India for metro Wi-Fi and we look forward to bringing RoamAD's next generation wireless networks to the Indian market," he added.
