Mark Shine Appointed As President, AT&T Communication Services, India

Mark Shine has been appointed as president, India, for AT&T Communication Services India Pvt. Ltd, with effect retroactive to Oct. 1, 2007, the company recently declared. He will relocate from the United States to New Delhi before the end of 2007.
Shine will lead AT&T’s business development and will be appointed to lead subsequent operations in the Indian wireless telecommunications market. AT&T has the experience and expertise to introduce world-class wireless communications services and products to the Indian telecom market.
“India is a strategic market for our global plans, and AT&T has the commitment to play an important role in the remarkable development taking place,” Shine said. “AT&T has the experience and capability to build state-of-the-art mobile infrastructure and provide Indian customers with the very latest in mobile voice and data communication services to meet surging demand in the country. Wireless is at the heart of everything we do at AT&T,” he said.
Shine brings to his new role more than 25 years of experience in the telecom industry. Before this appointment Shine was vice president of AT&T Global Sales Operations and was located in Bedminster, N.J. He was responsible for the sales experience for AT&T’s business and enterprise customers and their account teams worldwide.
