Logitech seems to be on a roll dishing out new iPod docks ever so often these days. Their latest dock called the Pure-Fi Dream are, believe it or not, actually a Premium Bedroom Music System for your iPod with motion and light-sensing technology.
The Pure-Fi Dream system is supported by 3/4-inch high-definition, soft-dome tweeters and 3-inch high-power, long-throw woofers. The Pure-Fi speakers also use Logitech’s StereoXL technology for enabling a wider soundfield in the room. The system also has an FM radio and an alarm function. The Motion-sensing technology works with the backlight of the player and automatically lights up when a hand is waved over the top of the player and it will also dim out when you’re done with it. This technology also works for a Snooze function in the alarm. All you’ll have to do is wave your hand over the player to switch the alarm to snooze. The alarm can be set to go off with wither the radio or the iPod or even a normal buzzer.
The light sensors that the Pure-Fi system uses, auto-adjusts the display brightness according to the amount of light present in the room. It reduces the amount of ambient light on the LCD display during the evenings so that all information that would show up on the display is clearly visible. The Pure-Fi also has a back up battery system. It also has a full function remote. The remote also has a similar backlight for the buttons to ease navigation. The Pure-Fi has a Line-In socket to connect any other player as well.
The Logitech Pure-Fi Dream is expected to be available in the U.S. beginning in November. The suggested retail price is approximately Rs. 10,160 ($249.99).
