Mumbai's new digital Lifestyle store—Croma, by Infiniti Retail—a subsidiary of Tata Sons, has chalked out plans to expand in smaller cities such as Pune and Ahmedabad. The USP of the store is its sheer size and capacity to incorporate more than 180 brands and more than 6000 products on display. Moreover, the store offers exclusive, 'Only at Croma' products, such as the Logitech remote control, which works with any home appliance, right from the television to the A/C.
Croma offers all its products at 'The Croma Best Price' which, on an average is below the MRP. It also offers customized advice and recommendations to customers, by trained staff, aiming to 'educate' people on the right choice and use of gadgets. Gadget freaks can browse through the products, and test them before buying them.
Ajit Joshi, CEO, Croma says, "This concept allows a customer to make a more informed choice, after using it himself. Especially in the case of high end laptops or PDAs, the customer wants to know if it suits his needs, before spending so much." The store also has a Kodak kiosk, where customers can transfer their pictures via a Bluetooth camera, edit and print pictures in minutes, to get an idea of the quality of pictures the camera offers.
Apart from MP3 players, cameras, mobile phones, PC and peripherals, gaming consoles (including the Xbox 360 and the upcoming PS3) and latest PC and console games, the store also houses electronic home appliances in a very wide price range.
The store will shortly be seen in more than 10 locations within Mumbai, including Malad and will expand nationwide, in the near future.
