Intel Introduces New Models, Slashes Prices

Intel is all set to cut prices of its Core 2 dual and quad core processors this week though online retailers in the U.S have already reduced prices. Under the new pricing structure, Intel offers its Core 2 processors starting at $113 per unit, in 100 unit quantities. The Core 2 Quad Q6600 also drops in price to $530 in 1000 unit quantities.

Additionally, Intel has also launched two new products—the E6320 and the E6420, counterparts of the E6300 and the E6400 but with 4 MB of L2 cache. The price of the new E6x20 models will be the same as that of the E6x00 models.

Prices will further go down in the Q3 of 2007 on Intel's entire line up except the recently launched Core 2 Extreme QX6800 and the price cuts are expected to be more aggressive this time. The Core 2 Quad Q6600 is further expected to go down to an amazing $266 per unit, in quantities of 1000 units. Intel also plans to release refreshed Core 2 processors with a 1333 MHz FSB ranging from $163 to $266 per unit, in 1000 unit quantities.

AMD also cut prices on their Athlon 64 X2 and Athlon 64 FX products this month, with the X2 3600+ now available for less than $100.

for motherboards i have confirmed that price of on dollar to indian rupees is 70, i.e. $1=70Rs. after all taxes and duties, confirmed march 2007,after tallying the market rates compared to rates at neweggdotcom.

this cutt off may definately gives a deduction in prices of laptops and pc's thus the benifits of end users are on greensides, hope for a revolutionary change in selling and better reach of technology in more and more hands in INDIA..
