Dell who had recently announced its intention to sell AMD-based desktops has delivered on its promise. It has announced the availability of its first AMD-based systems the Dimension C521 and Dimension E521 which will ship this week.
Both the Dimension desktops can be customized according to the consumer's needs with AMD processors ranging from the budget Sempron range all the way to the powerful dual-core AMD X2 processor. With prices starting at $329 and $359 respectively, these machines cost half as much as the recently introduced Intel Conroe based desktops whose prices start at $719.
With the desktops shipping soon after the announcement let’s hope we see some AMD based Dell notebooks shortly.
