AMD has announced the availability of new PCs, which utilize the AMD Live! Media center PC Platform. These new PCs will be available from Alienware and Dell, and will be powered by AMD Athlon 64 bit X2 processors.
These PCs will be demonstrated at the upcoming DigitalLife 2006 event with Alienware DHS high-definition media center, which will be backed up by an integrated home theater amplifier from D2Audio Corporation, and its graphics will be powered by the nForce 430 with Geforce 6150 graphics which has HD support.
AMD has also refreshed the AMD Live! Entertainment Suite, and has added new three software applications AMD LIVE! Communicator, AMD LIVE! Games and AMD LIVE! Kid Rocket. The Live! Communicator is an AV suite, that allows web-conferencing and voice communications. The Live! Games package will allow you to download customized games, and play online games. The Live! Kid Rocket Web Browser is parental control software that restricts online surfing, and allows parents to define the kind of sites their kids visit and the kind of activities they can perform on the web.
AMD has also upgraded the existing LIVE! Media Vault service which allows files to be backed up to an online account offered by Streamload and also offers synchronization between networked PCs and devices.
