Intel Sues Transmeta Over Patent Issues
By: Jayesh Mansukhani   |   Jan 15,2007
Intel in a tit-for-tat has countersued Transmeta Corp. alleging that it was Transmeta who infringed upon seven Intel patents. This is a rather weird turn as Transmeta, back in October last year, had sued Intel for the same reason claiming that the processor maker has used its power efficiency technology without taking permission or paying royalty. The Transmeta lawsuit listed was comprehensive and alleged that over 10 Transmeta patents have been infringed upon.

Intel is of course asking for the normal range of things i.e. compensation for damages, royalties, lawyer's fees and of the offending items.
