Better late than never! Asus has finally shipped its R2H UMPC which we had first heard about, way back in August last year.
The R2H as reported earlier, packs in a power saving a 900MHz Celeron M ULV processor, 768MB DDR2 533MHz memory, 1.8" 4200RPM 60 GB HDD , Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11a/b/g, GPS, fingerprint reader, SD card reader and three USB 2.0 ports. The OS being shipped with the R2H is Windows XP Tablet.
The R2H UMPC is now available in India for a price of Rs. 77,990. This we feel is a great price point for a UMPC as comparable offerings from Sony are priced nearly Rs. 20,000 higher.
I think it is completely unreasonable to expect ppl to pay 77,800 for adevice that is barely a computer. Asus is mad to think it will sell unless they reduce the price and make it comparable to the price in US.
