Search MySpace With Google

In what is surely a very profitable move, Google has been signed on for a 3 1/2 year, $900 million deal with News Corp. to provide advertising and search functionality to MySpace.com and other News Corp. sites. From October onwards, users will use Google to search for friends and groups on MySpace.

Google will also as part of the package provide AdSense-based advertising on the popular social networking site. Overall Google, who takes over from Yahoo! as the search partner will be reducing the number of ads per page.

Yahoo and MSN were also in the running for search rights on the News Corp. sites.

Google will pay about $900 million over three years and nine months for the privilege of serving search results and advertising to MySpace's 100 million pedophiles runaways half-naked teenagers.
