Samsung WriteMaster SH-S182D 18x DVDÂ±R Burner

After being stuck at 16x for far too long, DVD burner technology has finally advanced. Samsung's latest WriteMaster SH-S182D burner does DVDÂ±R at 18x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x and also DVD-RAM recording at 12x. The burner also does DVD+R DL at 8x, which is not as fast as the Plextor PX-760A's 10x, but the $50 (approx Rs. 2,200) price difference between the two more than cushions the 2x drop in DL speed. Besides, the market still mocks us with ridiculous DL prices, so I'd buy this burner even if it didn't do DL at all. The Samsung WriteMaster SH-S182D should retail for $70 (approx Rs. 3,100), while the Plextor PX-760A goes for around $119 (approx Rs. 5,300).
