Iomega has released a new line of products that are aimed at home users and the SOHO segment. The variety offered in this new line ranges from 320 GB (USD$ 149) to 500 GB (USD$ 199). This line was released for users with multiple PCs and who are looking for network storage at little more than the cost of a standard desktop external hard drive.
"There are an estimated 30 million homes in the United States with multiple computers. Iomega's new drives are designed for these families," Kampfer said. "Many computer users want the basics at a fair price; they don't need complicated features and they don't want to pay for capabilities they may not use."
All three models feature 7200 RPM SATA-II with an 8MB cache. Once a drive is set up and the network is operating, the device can save files from up to four networked PC or Mac computers.
