A while before the launch, Sony had mentioned that the PS3's backward compatibility extended to the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation. They mentioned that there were sound problems with a few of the games and it would be fixed a few online updates later.
Now, after the PS3 launched in Japan on 11th November, it seems that Sony wasn't quite clear about how 'backward compatible' the PS3 really is. According to Japanese newspaper Sankei, there are roughly 200 PS and PS2 titles that are affected by the problem. I really hope that Sony fixes this soon, since we're less than a week from the PS3's US launch and all we've heard about the console has been bad news these past few days
