Sony will launch their first software patch for the PS3 on the same day as their console. This downloadable patch will be available from November 11, onwards to anyone who connects their PS3 to the internet. The firmware will be upgraded from version 1 to version 1.10 and will unlock various features on the PlayStation Network for the newly purchased consoles.
The second update which will focus on PS3-PSP connectivity and security (and probably a few bug fixes/tweaks), will be available to PS3 and PSP owners by late November. It will also allow you to buy PSP games from the PlayStation Store via the PS3 and transfer them to your PSP. Additionally, those who have a Wireless LAN adaptor hooked up to their PS3 can use their PSP as a PS3 controller.
