Wii Not All That Hot?
By: Avinash Bali   |   Oct 29, 2006

Now everyone and their moms knew that what the Wii lacked in the graphical department, it would make up for in the innovative department and to a certain extent that does hold true, but recently site bit-tech.net got to spend some quality time with Nintendo's next-gen console and they weren’t as impressed s one may expect.

Here's an excerpt from that article:

What I do want to do is provide a little realism. Too many journalists are giving out the impression that the Wii will provide an unbelievable, unique experience unlike anything you will have ever played before. That the Wii remote allows for completely dynamic gameplay that will revolutionise the gaming world. These facts are half-truths, based most probably on people spending a small amount of time with the console at a booth at one of the big conventions. When you get down to the nitty gritty of the Wii you find something a bit different from the 360 and PS3, but not drastically as you may have thought/hoped.

They also spent some time with a few of the Wii's launch titles like Excite Truck, Elebits, Trauma Centre and more and their impressions on the whole episode can be read here.

Oh and normal people really don't look that cute while playing the Wii.

True@kelv , i guess it depends on what you are looking for. I my self look forward to the controll since i havn't like the little joystick thing for pointing or aiming at all. Movement is done fine with the analog joystick but pointing is way too clumbsy. Then you add in the other stuff the controller can do and it just becomes added bunuses to me.

i just glad some one is even trying to make fps game and even sim city top down wow games better playing on these consoles. 600 video cards are adding up and consoles provide a stable game play experienc for at least 4 years.

also too nintendo could make an sli version of this system also. The form factor lends it self to that. They could then have a console that mimmics the gba family, yet i think the gc was the beginning of that.

(read the whole article) the wii not being perfect in sence of motion sensing as of release is no real surprise to me, it will improve, just like when consoles hit 2nd generation games. I have waned to hear of someone who played it for a while instead of cool i g2g, then saying the moment was priceless.
i was trying to be a little biased as possible considering i hate nintendo!
enjoy your wii, people, for i will enjoy my ps3.

Il decide whats drastically different for my self. Its common sense the controller wont work for every one,,, and if i were as shallow to believe posted reviews the majority commend it. I cant be told the experiance as i would the 360,-simple- good graphics 1st party games blah blah blah. The difference needs to be felt for your self, wether it is wat others say or not

I think we should all try playing it first before judging it. Some people may find it more refreshing than others, and this journalist is just a journalist like all the rest. Half-truths from all.
