After its American and Japanese launch, Nintendo hit the Europe market with its revolutionary console, last Friday. A lot of the eager gamers couldn't wait, so they pre-ordered the console to ensure that they got a piece of the action in case of a shortage. But unfortunately, like the PS3 and the Xbox 360, the Wii's launch fell short of consoles too, leaving many disheartened.
In fact, a lot of people who pre-ordered the console received an email, stating that they might not receive their console anytime soon, due to a major shortage in the number of consoles available. Here is what David Yarnton, general manager, Nintendo UK, had to say:
"We are doing everything we can do to meet demand throughout Christmas and the New Year period."
