America's Army Saves Lives
By: Avinash Bali   |   Jan 21, 2008

Most parents, teachers or politicians are of the opinion that video games are Satan’s tools of death and destruction, and it brings me great pleasure to rub this news story in their faces. Recently a man from North Carolina, USA, was able to save the victim of a car crash by using the medic training he learned from... America’s Army!

Here’s what Paxton Galvanek, the unsung hero, had to say: "I used a towel as a dressing and asked the man to hold the towel on his wound and raise his hand above his head to lessen the blood flow; this allowed me to evaluate other injuries, including a cut on his head."

So yeah, the next time you think of bashing all games for being too violent, think of how one guy actually saved another’s life by the training he received from a video game.
