EA is planning to release downloadable content for Burnout Paradise, essentially free! That’s right, you don’t have to pay to download it. But don’t get all happy already, for there’s a catch – you can't use the DLC if you don’t purchase it. Basically, you can download it and play with people who have it, but you can't use it yourself.

"It's our intention to extend the life of Burnout with additional DLC in the near future. As mentioned, we don’t want to split the online community between those who have content and those who don’t. Our intention is to offer both free and paid-for DLC in a way that enables everyone to 'see' the content, even if they have not paid for it."
