Clive Barker Working on a New Game

Clive Barker's Undying was an awesome game. Even though it didn't fare extremely well commercially, it carved a fine spot for itself in the horror genre. After Undying, Clive Barker was associated with Demonik, an action horror game that was to make its debut on the Xbox 360. The game got shelved unfortunately, but you can see bits and pieces of it in the 2006 stoner flick Grandma's Boy. Now after a long sabbatical, Barker's back with Clive Barker's Jericho, a game that's all set to scare the crap out of gamers when it releases in 2007 for the PC and next gen consoles. The game will follow the exploits of a team of a special-forces team as they strive to uncover the mystery behind a place called Jericho, the humble abode of evil itself. Gamers should get ready for one hell of a twisted ride as Barker had this to say, "There are things in my imagination which I think can only be paintings, things that can only be books, and this thing has to be a game." Is there a movie in it later? Sure. But what it has to be is what it's going to be first, an absolutely killer game. He further goes on to state, "I don't want to give too much away just yet, but the concept is that somewhere in northern Africa there is a walled city which is not just a walled city but walls within walls within walls. As players progress through the game, they will be battling through time, as each area holds enemies from a previous historical era. It becomes a more primal experience as well, because the means of combat become more crude and the people become in a way simpler. I think the player is going to get quite a series of spectacles because they get closer to something that makes the devil look like Pollyanna." Ooook, looks like someone's hitting the pipes a bit too hard lately. All said and done, the game does sound promising as long as it doesn't end up getting shelved.
