This may come as bad news to some, (especially to our beloved designer), but it seems Capcom is shutting down it's subsidiary Clover Studios in less than three years. For all those who were left clueless by that name, Clover Studios was behind games like Viewtiful Joe, Okami and God Hand and however good these games were, they just couldn't generate the necessary revenue.
Even though a lot of Clover Studio's titles were critically acclaimed, none of them could be financially compared to some of Capcom's successful franchises like Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. Clover Studios will be shut down by March 2007 and some of the staff may end up getting absorbed at Capcom, while some have to venture into the big bad world for a job.
