Counter Strike, Everquest Banned in Brazil
By: Avinash Bali   |   Jan 21, 2008

The next time you feel like cursing out your local censor board for cutting out gore/nudity from your games/movies, be glad you don’t live in Brazil because from this day both Counter Strike and Everquest have been banned there.

That’s right people; everyone’s favorite online shooter is no more acceptable in the land of samba and fútbol simply because it teaches players war strategies and encourages them to play as terrorists.

Everquest, on the other hand, offers players both good and bad quests – and it's this moral dilemma that apparently messes with players' heads, causing them serious psychological problems (it’s at this point that I had problems controlling my laughter and disgust).

The irony is that games like POSTAL 2 and Manhunt (yes, Manhunt!) continue to be sold over there.

well i think, its ok only for checking the mental disturbance in kids but as far as entertainment is considered, i think the brazilians have much to loose.

even if it is banned i dont think its gonna stop people from playing there. According to me the government there is weak hence it will become like piracy.illegal but still existing.(must stop comment and concentrate on isis ;)
