GTA IV Trailer Debuts
By: Avinash Bali   |   Mar 31,2007
Last night the internet experienced a monumental event of sorts as Rockstar unveiled their very first trailer of Grand Theft Auto IV. As the official site’s countdown slowly made it’s way to zero (it started on the 1st of March) fans all over were going crapping themselves in anticipation and nearly every gaming forum on the planet was overrun by wild rumors and speculations. Threads went on for pages and people kept pumping themselves with caffeine so that they could be one of the first ones to witness this franchises’ leap to next gen consoles.

Now keep in mind this was a teaser trailer so don’t expect a full blown video preview but at least now we know where the game will take place (or at least part of it). As predicted by many GTA IV will take place in Rockstar’s equivalent of New York City, Liberty City and will put players in the boots of a Russian mobster (or at least that’s how it seemed). From what we saw, the game looked absolutely stunning running on Rockstar’s proprietary RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine) engine and Microsoft claim that the entire trailer was not pre-rendered; it was in fact running in real time on next gen consoles.

Expect tons of information in the days to come but till then head over to our downloads section for a glimpse of a gorgeously rendered Big Apple (albeit a semi-fictional one).

Reetesh...shoulda tried YouTube. :)
I completely forgot abt the trailer, and remember only after Tech 2 did an article on it.

I opened it via QuickTime and went to dinner, in the mean time the video was buffering. And by the time I came back, I got uninterruped 1:03 mins(WTF!...1hr of byffering for 1:03 mins???) of glorious GTA...thingy. Was worth it tho.

and the "in game" environment LOOKS HUGE. Look at the places where we can explore by foot. On top of bridges, alleys, the Liberty Statue island(forgot the real name), Central Park (or whatever u call it), ferrys, and I think we can do some Stock Marketing, but I am not sure. All in all...it looks HUGE. Cant wait for this game...
